founded in 2005, posted to the net on july 4th and officially launched November 28th, the frustration of a time when I was tired of settling for playing with people I had to grasp for common ground with and an internet with musician listings as mere side show market ploys to biuld sells and so geographically sparatic you may find a musician in the same state, but he probably posted that profile two years ago. Or the option Bandmix, which bates you through a long setup with a promise to meet musicians only to be denied making contact unless you paid a membership fee. So i set out to find a bass player that could play bass better than i could and at the same time biuld a website that answered the problems i had with the ones i saw. First off all, i had to figure out how to build a LOCAL NETWORK. The essence of the Interenet is a marriage between instantaneous info access and a mass audience. Which doesn't couple at all with developing a useful local network, unless you can just saturate the web like Myspace! But there are ways as i've discovered and as you will when you notice the geographical makeup of the ebandbuilder member list. The other answer i had to answer was how to financially support this local network with doing it on the back of broke musicians. And thats been answered as you will see there's no fee to become a member, search and contact other members or access other parts of the site. So there you have it. We are always thinking and brainstorming to move the site forward.
